More than ten years ago, I slipped, fell – straight back, hit my head,… on a church basement floor. I am convinced that my lifestyle use of marijuana kept the concussion I suffered that day from damaging my brain. I began to have seizures. It did create a crack in my skull that caused me to have a cerebral brain fluid leak which somehow healed in 2019 . . . without man’s intervention. I still deal with the symptoms of epilepsy.
There are so many with the power to change my life for the better but they are either ignorant or misinformed about a PLANT. A simple plant. Physicians, lawmakers and other humans with authority over my life refuse to become conscious. There is a very informative movie on Netflix Weed the People. about medical marijuana for the uninformed to consider. CONSIDER not agree, CONSIDER with an open mind!!! Education never hurt anyone.
I know my truth. Over and over again, I have been tested, and the damage expected from the traumas I have faced is NOT present. In all this time, only one medical professional has been honest with me. He looked me in the eye and whispered that “The amount of marijuana you smoke has kept you from having severe brain damage.” The fact that I don’t have brain damage is proof that something that I am doing is effective. What I do is smoke weed in pipes exactly like the two pictured above. That is all I do. When I feel the internal aurora that lets me know a storm is starting to rage in my brain, if I inhale twice a certain strain, the storm will STOP. If the right strain is blown into my face while I am having a seizure, it brings me back to consciousness faster. When I inhale another particular strain, my recovery from the seizure is shorter and more comfortable for me.
Smoking works, for me.
I have been hospitalized and under medical care while having a seizure. I have yet to be given a non-narcotic or non-opioid substance that will instantly stop a seizure. I hear that the state of Ky is going to legalize medical marijuana/, two years from now but not in the form that I know is effective for my needs. TWO years from now, really? And only in forms that require that humans tamper with the plant and create another product?

I smoke certain strains of cannabis for medicinal reasons; I puff other premium strains of marijuana because I like it. Both have protected my brain from a debilitating injury. The US government knows the protective power of the plant, it is why they hold the patent that they do. They tested the plant on veterans, years ago. They were not sending out butter, oils, vape pens, or brownies. They sent out marijuana cigarettes! The American government has since 1976 been supplying Americans with premium weed for medical use. While the program stopped taking new patients in 1992, there are citizens till receiving the marijuana for compassionate reasons. Why can’t I smoke for compassionate reasons so I may remain conscious to serve, compassionately, in my community? All of the marijuana comes from the University of Mississippi, where it is grown, harvested, and stored./

Legalize, Regulate
It amazes me that people are concerned about the” intoxicating effect” of the plant but I can go buy as much alcohol as I choose and no one has an issue with it. There are stores, bars, and clubs to sell me the liquor and I can get intoxicated in public – no problem. I can go in and buy a gun, of any type including military grade and no one is concerned about that danger but my feeling good from smoking a weed to stop a seizure is an issue. We all know there is not a single health benefit to smoking cigarettes and that they are addictive, but I can walk into any store and purchase a pack of cancer sticks at will. Let me act in my best medical interest and I have to defend myself.
The truth is also that there is no good reason that marijuana is illegal. If there is, oregano and basil should also be illegal. The ONLY reason marijuana is illegal in this country is RACISM/!!!! The actions of Federal Bureau of Narcotics Commissioner Harry Anslinger’s and his racist ideology led to the passage of the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937, under which the importation, cultivation, possession and/or distribution of marijuana were regulated. He also tied cannabis use to jazz music, alleging that it was an evil music form created by people under the plant’s influence.
